Looking Back
Both electric and accoustic six string guitars were used in this project. All songs and lyrics were written by David Jarrod. Several of the guitars played throughout the album were Fender, Dean and Peavey. A combination of preamps and cabinets were utilized in the recording sessions. Engineers placed mics in each of the rooms, along with lines running to signal processors.
The producers vision for each individual song determined the recording and engineering process. The cabinets used were Ampeg and Peavey, with a 5150 head. Other amps were used, as well. The bass guitars were a Hammer, with four strings, and a five string Peavey with active electronics. A wide array of pedals, gadgets and gnomes were used during the sessions. Some of the microphones used in the studio were AKG 3000, 2000, Audix, and of course, Shure.
Many of the sessions kept the studio rocking throughout the night to that space between the twilight and the dawn. Some of these times were documented in the New Liberty video "ROCKUMENTARY". It was during one of these late sessions that an unusual voice was heard on playback. The producer caught on tape a strange message during the recording of David's hit single, "HOLDING ON".
Video shoots filmed both day and night, by the studio's producer, and provided footage for the ROCKUMENTARY, as well as other music videos.
Photoshoots were often shot on location in and around the small town of Mayfield, Kentucky.
Thomas King and Peter Francis, worked together for the first time on this project. David Jarrod's publicist, Linda La Tourelle, is the CEO and founder of Bluegrass Publishing. Having sold over 250,000 copies of her well-known book, "The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Word" along with other books as well, she lent her publishing expertise to assist Thomas King on the David Jarrod project. This was Ms. LaTourelle's first initiation in the music industry. Her passion for music, made this an easy transition to diversify her interests.
David returned to the UK to his family, while Thomas and Linda continued fine-tuning the tracks and promotional plans. It was during this time that they discovered shared passion make for a great relationship and soon they announced to friends and family their engagement and plans for an autumn wedding on September 27, 2008. Upon hearing the news David went into the NLR's UK Studio with producer Peter Francis and crafted the Song "Do You Remember", as a wedding gift for his two friends.
